Royce Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a combat sport that focuses on ground fighting with the goal of gaining a superior position to utilize joint-locks or chokeholds to force an opponent to submit. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper technique can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant. BJJ can be trained for self defense, sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition. |

Mauy Thai Boxing
Muay Thai boxing, the national sport of Thailand, is also known as The Art of the Eight Limbs because a practitioner has the ability to execute strikes using "eight points of contact," as opposed to "two points" (fists) in Western boxing and "four points" (fists, feet) used in most forms of martial arts.
Muay Thai Kickboxing is an excellent way to learn self-defense, have fun and get physical fit, as well as help prepare for future mixed martial arts competitions. |

Wrestling
Wrestling has proven to be a very effective tool in Mixed Martial Arts. The conventional principals of Greco-Roman and Freestyle are taught, and when used correctly, a fighter can gain an advantage over their opponent by capitalizing on techniques that focus on throws, take downs, clinching, holding, locking, and leverage. |

Boxing
Boxing, in its most classic form, is an integral aspect of Mixed Martial Arts. The fundamental basics, such as footwork, distance and timing is taught, as well as punching drills that incorporate jabs, the straight right and right cross, uppercuts and hooks. All the equipment necessary to train, such as gloves, wraps, mouthpieces, heavy bags, slip bag and the double end bag are provided. Advanced classes that involve sparring are also available. |

Mixed Martial Arts
Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full contact combat sport in which a wide variety of fighting techniques are used, including both striking and grappling. The MMA classes taught at The Forge will vary in focus, depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the students, and the instructor's background or area of expertise.
Instructors will primarily focus on various forms of stand-up, such as Boxing and Muay Thai Boxing; ground work, such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and conventional wrestling, and clinch work, which can cover Judo or Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling for takedowns and throws. |

Cardio Kickboxing
Cardio Kickboxing classes are taught using a circuit training format. The techniques during the one-hour classes are practiced on heavy bags and training pads and are based on authentic kickboxing and Muay Thai fundamentals, which provide both resistance and cardio vascular benefits to its participants. These cardiovascular classes are a fun, excellent way to learn punches and kicks while increasing your strength and stamina. |

Children's Mixed Martial Arts Classes
Children's Mixed Martial Arts classes are structured to provide students with the abilities to become well-rounded in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. The fundamentals of Boxing, Muay Thai boxing, wrestling and submissions are taught in a safe, fun and challenging one-hour class that will sharpen their skills, improve balance and coordination, increase strength and build up endurance. The training children receive will also help improve aspects of discipline, confidence, focus, teamwork and respect (for instructors and training partners). |
